RAWSON, BLUM & LEON (RBL), is headquartered in San Francisco, California. We specialize in the acquisition, the development, and the management of commercial real estate. Established in 1974 as Rawson, Blum & Company by Dave Rawson and Joe Blum, we initially purchased and developed shopping centers in partnership with Terranomics, a retail development and services company. From 1985 to 1988, we conducted business as Terranomics Equities.A BRIEF HISTORYIn 1989, the Company revived the original Rawson, Blum & Company name and continued to acquire promotional strip centers and power centers in the western United States. In 1998, Jeffrey S. Leon joined the company as its Director of Acquisitions, and the company was renamed Rawson Blum & Leon (RBL). In 2004, a strategic alliance was formed with Weingarten Realty Investors (NYSE: WRI), a Houston, Texas-based real estate investment trust that owns more than 46 million square feet of commercial property throughout the United States. RBL currently focuses on ground-up or redevelopment opportunities of urban in-fill centers, suburban neighborhood and community centers, lifestyle centers, power centers, and regional malls in rapidly growing communities throughout the western states. With each acquisition, our staff researches and evaluates the asset prior to investment and develops a thorough strategy for repositioning the property.
